Diving back into the hobby (more or less), I am now
setting out to do some work on my Iron Hands Terminator Librarian.
He'll be the senior of two, so I want him to be pretty stinkin'
dramatic. I considered doing the junior of the two first, but
then thought that it would be easier to set the upper bound than
it would to try to do a great model and then immediately out-do it.
So here we go......

INITIAL THOUGHTS
Pose: I thought about chopping the little feller up and then
trying to re-pose him, but the figs from the new terminator box
set are pretty dynamic, and I'll be puting enough green stuff onto
him to choke a shetland pony, so I think I'll stick with the stock
bits. I will want him to be a little more imposing, though, so he'll
probably benefit from a jacked-up torso, expanded shoulders, and
thicker boots.
The model will be weilding his force weapon (modeled as a stylized
halberd) and a power weapon (a fancy sword or axe). The staff-type
weapons always look better when they're more or less vertical, so
that leaves me his other weapon to be swinging, pointing, or otherwise
brandishing in dramatic fashion.
Green thoughts: I'll want the fig to look somewhat like the
new techmarine model. Obviously I'll want his face exposed, but I
really like the look of the overlapping armor plates. I'll be
modifying both legs, torso and waist to feature this modification.
Lots of cables too, but that's really an afterthought. They just
get slapped on wherever there's room.
The psychic hood is going to be a tricky matter. I really like the
look of the old-style hood. The ones they put on the Grey Knights
are way too subtle. Plastic tubing should do the trick here. I'll
find a piece that matches the diameter of the...
...whatever you call the head opening...
...and trim it down to the shape I like. The trick then will be to
get it to curve over his head, but I'll worry about that when I get
there.
The other matter that I'll need to address is bionics. Whether or
not I actually spend points on the useless bit of wargear, I'll want
the fig to look mechanical. I'll probably achieve this by grinding
away portions of a leg and arm and inserting plastic tubing/green
stuff.
Extra bits: I already have lots of books, guitar strings, scrolls,
Bretonnian bits and the like, so I should be okay here. There's
nothing else I anticipate needing at this point.
