The Pacific Marauders at Gamex 2005
|
Well, I don't really have many pictures of this event, due to my
camera battery running low, a general lack of lighting, my dog
eating my homework, the great LA tsunami of '04, rickets, gout
and piles...
...but I figured I might as well post the pics since I've got 'em,
and seeing as this was Ben and Rich's first trip to the con. So
here I am, getting off of my digital butt, and finally posting the
pics (such as they are) of the May Strategicon of '04.
Enjoy.

Here we see Rich, getting his stuff out to play in the
Rogue Trader. Little does he realize what the event
has in store for him. |
I know it's hard to make out in this crappy pic - but here
we have a hoard of demons and Chaos terminators surrounding
some IG heavy weapons (of Rich's). We further see two smashed
tanks and a bunch of Guardsmen fleeing the field at the
bottom of the pic. Why did this happen? Because Rich let
his cheesy opponent cheat!
|
...and how does that make you feel now, Rich? Yeah,
I thought so. |
|
|
|
But what, you may ask, happened after that? Why, Rich got
to fight Tester, of course.
...and I've got nothing to say on the record about THAT
battle. |
Here's a pic of Ben, obviously pleased to be playing a
rousing game of 40k or three. |
...and here he is, wearied after a bit of playing.
That's all I got of the guys before my camera crapped out
on me. Next time I'll be better prepared.
* heavy sigh *

Ever wonder what the Outriders do to earn all of that
cool product? Well, this is pretty much it. |
I've been meaning to try out this game called Fairy Meat.
It's a 1:1 scale miniatures game of insane fairies killing
and eating one another. What could be better?
|
Here's another, closer picture of the board. Maybe I'll
be able to get less crappy pics of it someday. |

Here is the figure that Rich entered in the painting
contest. Under it you will see the ribbon and certificate
that he received for winning First Place in the
newbie division! Nice going, Rich! |
...and here is my unit of Dwarven Treasure Hunters.
I entered them in the unit competition but managed
to take the award for Best Overall. Good thing
Aaron wasn't there... |
Last and very much least, here is a pic of Rich and
Tester engaging in some lively debate. Who could have
guessed...? |
